She developed through collective improvisation and old jazz standards under the shadow of Nina Simone and Billie, and since then Mélanie de Biasio has captivated many a jazz stage in her travels. A master of ambiance, she draws her audiences into her sensitive, sensorial universe. No doubt about it, she knows a thing or two about voluptuousness and the kind of jazz that heats up a room.
Her magnetic presence is hypnotic, her suave and powerful voice perfectly enhanced by her instrumentalists, and her songs hover somewhere between swing and spleen. A bewitching voice! |

The Tallest Man on Earth is the rather strange alias of Swede Kristian Matsson. His fine folk is often compared with that of Bob Dylan. Not completely without reason either: his oeuvre also contains that typical narrative element. His latest offspring ‘Shallow Grave’ (2008) harvested worldwide success. We reckon that the combination of his weathered voice along with that clever guitar work is one of the things that will provide him with a bright future. |

Daniel Lanois is finally back again. With Trixie Whitley and Brian Blade! This trio-project bears the name Black Dub. With a new CD out in Autumn and now already that brilliant single from Trixie: I'd Rather Go Blind.
This Canadian star is producer for U2, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, The Neville Brothers (in the days of that impressive Yellow Moon...) Moreover, he always guarantees an appealing, fascinating sound. His own recordings also bathe in that unique sound too, whether it's for a radio hit like Jolie Louise, or rather one of his many more instrumental escapades, apparently like the Omnia trilogy now!? More recent visits to Dranouter and Lokerse Feesten were in any case unbelievable goosebump moments. For those who prefer their music live and intense: singer-guitarist and resonant wizard Daniel Lanois @ AB! |

Le quatuor versaillais est de retour sur le devant de la scène avec un nouvel album «Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix» produit par de Zdar (Cassius). Trois ans après «It’s Never Been Like That», Phoenix déballe des nappes électroniques enjouées sur des compositions résolument pop. Un album tout en simplicité où l’on retrouve des riffs de guitares dans une atmosphère sonore élaborée. |
